Webinar Recap: Everyday Stress Solutions for Parents & Teens

When it comes to supporting kids through stress, caregivers often find themselves trying to hold it all together while balancing their own emotions, responsibilities, and hopes for their child. During our latest Clayful Caregiver Webinar, Erika Boehme, Coach Success Lead at Clayful, invited families to slow down, take a breath, and rediscover simple, evidence-based ways to find calm amid the chaos.

💬 Key Takeaways

Together, we explored the idea that stress isn’t something to eliminate but instead it’s something to understand and manage with awareness. By learning how stress shows up in our minds and bodies, we can start to meet it with compassion rather than resistance.

As a group, we reflected on the familiar signs (the tight shoulders, racing thoughts, and endless to-do lists)and  practiced tools to pause, release tension, and come back to the present moment. We learned that emotional regulation begins with simple awareness:

🧠 Tools to Try at Home

Each of the tools introduced can be used at home, in the classroom, or even on the go. These are small, approachable practices that help both students and caregivers build resilience together.

  • Feelings Wheel Tool → Help kids identify and name emotions — a key step in building emotional awareness and empathy.
  • Body Scan Tool → A guided check-in that teaches students (and adults!) how to notice where stress lives in the body and release it intentionally.
  • Circle of Control Tool → Supports perspective-taking by helping students separate what they can control from what they can’t — empowering them to focus energy where it matters.
  • Start Somewhere Tool → Breaks down big problems or projects into small, actionable steps — perfect for tackling school stress or life’s “too much” moments.
  • Intention Setting Tool → Encourages reflection and purpose-driven action. Erika shared how setting a daily intention can shift a child’s mindset before the school day begins.

🌱 Closing Thought

The session was concluded by encouraging caregivers to take a small, meaningful step for themselves this week:

“Pause. Breathe. Choose one tool. You don’t need to fix everything today — you just need to start somewhere.”

Because when caregivers model calm, students learn that emotional wellness is something we can all practice together.
