Integrating Clayful Coaching into Restorative Practices provides a student with the tools and support needed to repair harm, restore relationships, and develop empathy.
A student can engage in coaching as a way to prepare for Restorative Circle.
With Clayful Coaching, a student can…
-understand the impact of their actions on others
-develop strategies for making amends
-practice active listening and empathy
-create a plan for positive future interactions
Assigning Clayful Coaching before a Restorative Circle is easy:
- Invite all students involved in the restorative process to engage with a Clayful Coach at least one day before the Restorative Circle with this script: I would like you to prepare for our Restorative Circle by talking to a Clayful coach. This will help you reflect on what happened, understand its impact, and feel more confident for our discussion. Please connect with a coach at least one day before our circle.
- Ensure the student has access to a device and a Clayful account. The student can create an account at: chatwithclayful.com If consent is required, share this link with a guardian: clayful.co/consent
- Fill out a Clayful Connection Card with the student to set expectations and goals (found in the office) and then share a picture of it (or enter the information manually) with Clayful at https://clayful.co/connection-card
