From
support to
reimbursement

Coaching
1. Your students engage in eligible wellness services

Students can access wellness screeners, group coaching, and 1:1 video coaching—all designed to provide timely support and, where eligible, contribute to reimbursement opportunities.

Programming
2. Insurance claims are handled with flexibility

Clayful documents eligible services and can manage the insurance claims process for your district, or your district can submit claims directly.

Data
3. Reimbursement helps fund student support

For many districts, CYBHI reimbursements meet or exceed Clayful's program costs.

"I'm grateful for Clayful's escalations because both of those students needed that support. One was already seeing a clinician and one is now connected with a clinician at our campus. That's the point, right?

With Clayful, we're serving the students who go under the radar."

Social Services Coordinator

Support available throughout the school day

On top of CYBHI-funded video coaching, screeners, and group coaching, every district gets full access to Clayful's on-demand chat-based coaching platform. Students connect with a trained human coach in just 60 seconds.

How districts fund Clayful

There are two ways districts work with us

Option 1: District bills, district earns.

Your district contracts directly with Clayful and submits CYBHI claims on its own behalf. Medi-Cal reimbursements flow back to your district — offsetting the program cost, then generating net revenue.

1. Your district contracts with Clayful
2. Clayful delivers coaching and submits CYBHI claims on your behalf
3. Reimbursements are paid directly to your district
4. Net surplus is returned to your programs

A district with 11 sites can expect $569K+ in annual CYBHI reimbursements from screeners alone, against a $300K program cost — a projected $269K net gain after program costs.

Option 2: Small fee, zero billing burden.

Your district pays a simple per-site platform fee. Clayful handles all CYBHI billing, claim submission, and administration. You get the full program without the overhead.

1. Your district pays $5K per site per year
2. Clayful delivers the full coaching and screening program
3. Clayful submits and manages all CYBHI claims
4. Reimbursements cover the remainder — district pays nothing more

For a district with 11 sites, that's $55K total to unlock a $300K full-service program.

What's included at either tier

  • Clinically validated health screeners (fall, winter, spring)

Who Clayful Serves

Freeing your clinical team to focus where they're needed most

School counselors and clinicians are stretched thin. Clayful provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for students carrying everyday challenges, so your counseling team stays focused on the students who need them most.

Processing quietly

Students carrying stress, family pressure, or friendship struggles who haven't found the right moment to speak up.

"Yes, I want to get better, but I don't want to forget about him."

Building toward something

Students who aren't in crisis — but aren't quite okay either. They're navigating a hard season and need a place to sort it out.

"They were very useful actually, thank you! I had trouble with falling asleep, but making that schedule really came in hand and I got more hours of sleep."

Ready to celebrate

Students who hit a milestone, made progress, or just want to share something good with someone who's paying attention.

"I just needed someone to celebrate my accomplishment with and that's exactly what I needed."

Can't say it face-to-face

Students who won't walk into a counselor's office but will open a chat. The anonymity of text lowers the barrier enough to start.

"I appreciate your effort and reasoning, and being there when I'm too scared to talk to an adult face-to-face."

Clayful coach
Clayful Coaches are trusted partners in student success

Most programs offer one layer of quality assurance.

Clayful builds in four.

Less than 10% of applicants make it through Clayful's selection process. Every coach is certified, trained, clinically supervised, and background-checked before working with students.

ICF-certified, CBT-informed

All Clayful coaches hold International Coaching Federation accredited certification and are trained in CBT-informed methods and motivational interviewing.

Background-checked

Every coach passes a thorough background check before ever interacting with students.

Clinically supervised

A licensed clinical supervisor reviews sessions and escalates any safety concern. Your team is notified if a student's needs go beyond coaching.

Coaching, not therapy

Clayful is not a clinical service. Coaches help students identify goals, build skills, and take action — freeing your licensed staff for the clinical work only they can do.

I just think it's a great resource for our kids because counseling capacity is pretty limited at our middle school.

8th Grade Teacher
There are a lot of kids who don't touch our mental health system and would benefit from an attuned adult. And that's why we choose Clayful.

Mental Health Counselor
In the past we would have had to stop what we were teaching and deal with two or three peer conflicts. Now I tell them to go on Clayful and talk to a coach.
